In addition to the social contribution activities such as aid for natural disasters at home and abroad that it had long engaged in, in 2006 the Kobelco Construction Machinery Group began full-fledged CSR activities with the additional purposes of cultivating human resources, protecting the global environment and so forth.
Last year we issued for the first time a "Socio-Environmental Report 2007" which introduced our Group's CSR activities. It was characterized by an emphasis on conceptual matters – approaches, policies and the like, centering on the message in the CSR activities.
The present report is the second to have appeared. It goes a step further than the previous one by incorporating the specific content of the activities. By presenting specifics it conveys the whole of the Group's activities, inviting assessment from diverse viewpoints so that we can further vitalize the CSR activities of the Kobelco Construction Machinery Group.
We also hope that this report will deepen understanding of the Kobelco Construction Machinery Group on the part of its business partners and local communities, and of the people of all kinds who are stakeholders in its business activities, as well of course as on the part of its employees and users. |
